All of these concerts were performed for live audiences in 15 cities between September 5th and 14th to mark World Suicide Prevention Week.

Imagine a day when the barricades erected around the subjects of suicide and mental illness start to come down.

Imagine a day when hundreds of Canada’s finest musicians across the country join together to offer music of healing and hope to those in jeopardy, and to those left behind.

Imagine a day when even one life might be saved as a result.

Imagine you, joining with us, to let everyone know their lives truly matter.

Mysterious Barricades hosts concerts in 15 cities across Canada performed by some of Canada’s most talented musicians. These free concerts will be performed for live audiences between September 5th and 14th.

The donation of time and talent from each of approximately 400 extraordinary musicians is performed for the purpose of providing healing and connection to those who are affected by suicide, either in surviving a loss or in dealing with their own mental health issues.

People touched by suicide, mental health professionals, community figures, politicians, and ordinary Canadians stand up this day to speak up about mental health and suicide, in an effort to reduce stigma and provide support.

We hope to connect our country and world with this incredible musical and human event.

This day long classical, choral and jazz musical event is tied together with a powerful musical theme. That theme is Mysterious Barricades. The 15 coast to coast concerts will be streamed on Saturday, September 14th as one day-long concert event that begins at sunrise in St. John’s, and follows the sun across Canada to end at sunset in Victoria. As with all the live concerts, the video stream is free to enjoy, and will be available for viewing on this website until Sept. 21st.
